Friday 16th, Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th October 2020
Unfortunately, for reasons we all know, we can’t bring you the same style of Beer & Cider Festival that we have done in years gone by however we have been thinking of various ways we can deliver you fine beers and ciders as well as a train ride.
If (and this is subject completely to the latest UK Government Restrictions) the event is able to take place then we will offer ‘sessions’, each being 4 1/2hrs each, 2hrs will be a seated inside our Engine Shed experience with a bar set up and the remaning 2 1/2hrs will be spent on the Real Ale Train running from Tunbridge Wells West to Eridge.
Tunbridge Wells West
At Tunbridge Wells West, our Engine Shed when empty is a huge space and we can accomodate a large number of tables/benches for people to sit at along with a much reduced bar offering (I’m afraid there won’t be 150 Beers this year). You will be allocated a table with your booking which is yours for the 2hr session, you will be able to purchase Beer or Cider at a specially created bar to ensure Social Distancing can be maintained. People will need to remain seated when drinking inside our Engine Shed so unfortunately being able to move around and Live Entertainment as in previous years won’t be possible.
You will be able to purchase Beer or Cider through contacless payment and obtain a Spa Valley Railway Glass of your choice (Tankard, Pint or Challis) which if you would like to use this you will be more than welcome to. Beer or Cider when purchased will be done by volunteers wearing appropriate PPE and in disposable cups.
Steam Train Ride
Once your 2hr session is over you will be directed onto the train to set seats, the train will be formed up of comparment and open coaches with seats available for 2s, 3s, 4s or up to 6 persons in a compartment. You will not be able to walk up and down the train and will be required to remain seated during the journey unless it is to access the toilet.
On the train we will have a further bar and as part of your entry ticket price you will be entitled to 3 pints of Beer or Cider per person during the 2 1/2hrs you’re on board. Ordering will be done via ‘Carriage Attendants’ travelling in each vehicle and a tick sheet on your table, these will be collected and Beer/Cider delivered to your table in disposable cups by volunteers in appropriate PPE.
Your train will travel to Eridge twice (so you will return to Tunbridge Wells West once before you can disembark) and you will get to ride behind Bulleid Pacific No. 34053 ‘Sir Keith Park’ as part of the experience.
Tickets will be priced at £35 per person and include:
