I’m very glad to say that we brewed our green hop beer last Friday. The beer is a green hop version of our popular Crispin Amber Ale, a 4% best bitter named for the Crispin Inn in Sandwich.
It was made with the very first hops picked this year at Boughton Farm just outside Faversham. Peter had to go and harvest them himself with the farmer, as his picking team hadn’t arrived for work yet. Within a few hours of picking, 24kg of the very freshest green East Kent Golding hops were in our copper and the beer is now fermenting nicely.
